Take it from METALWORKING FLUID MAGAZINE: Skip it. It's overrated. Historically significant, but I like real tender meat and they don't have it. Dickey's is better. But here's your can't miss trip tip: Hit the road to Lockhart Smokehouse in Oak Cliff. Located at 400 W. Davis Street, it's 3 miles from the Omni in an older part of Dallas. You will get some great BBQ and you'll enjoy yourself in a casual atmosphere. It's a short drive from the OMNI and very well worth it. You may not like us, but you know down deep you can trust it. There are a dozen other good places to go, but we live here, and this is where we go. The brisket is the bomb. You must order some "burnt ends" to complete your experience. Tell them METALWORKING FLUID MAGAZINE sent you and watch them say "Who's that?" After your great meal, visit the historic Texas Theater where Lee Harvey Oswald was caputered. It's very close by at 231 Jefferson Blvd. Feeling food adventuous? Try Ten50 BBQ at 1050 N Central Expy. It looks very good, but I haven't tried it yet.
