June is over, but we will report year round on the Health, Safety and Environmental impact of Metalworking Fluids.  A critical element of our lives is “ENERGY.”  For metalworking fluids we are always concerned for extended fluid life, less disposal, less tool wear, better filtration and what not. Finally the objective is to preserve the environment by saving energy whenever possible.  This Energy outlook 2040 is an interesting article, I really enjoyed reading what will be the life of my grown up children in 2040. We appreciate ExxonMobil for helping us look into the future.  A few eye opener predictions from this outlook are:

  1. The world’s population will rise by more than 25 percent from 2010 to 2040 reaching 9 billion
  2. 75 percent of the world’s population will reside in Asia Pacific and Africa by 2040.
  3. India will have the largest population, post-2030
  4. Energy demand in developing nations (Non OECD) will rise 65 percent by 2040 compared to 2010
  5. Global Electricity demand will grow by 85% over outlook period
  6. The global economy is expected to grow at an annual average rate of 2.8 percent from 2010 to 2040
