Man Severs Fingers at Metalworking Fluid Manufacturing Company
An employee of a reputed Metalworking Fluid, cleaner and lubricant manufacturer in Crystal Lake severely injured his hand while operating a machine Monday morning, according to the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department. Crews were called to 8200 Ridgefield Road around 7:40 a.m. for a report of a man who had severed off several fingers, fire officials said. The unidentified man caught his fingers in a machine that processes and mixes grease components before putting it into a 55-gallon drum. At least two fingers were severed, Battalion Chief Thomas Pollnow said. He was taken to Centegra Hospital – Woodstock.
