Mark your calendar now ofr you know you will miss this.  Join STLE for this important webinar, featuring instructor John Burke (Houghton International) who will discuss waste water treatment for metalworking fluids.  Cost: $39 for members, $59 for non-members.  Credit may be applied to recertification.
Abstract:  Metalworking fluids are complex mixtures of chemicals that can be a significant contaminant burden to the receiving environment if not properly waste treated. Along with the challenges of treating the fresh or essentially un-used metalworking fluids, the used fluids can pick up additional contaminants adding even more challenges for disposal. Other contaminants are metals, tramp oils, cleaning solutions and floor soaps. This webinar will briefly discuss waste water disposal requirements for users of metalworking fluids in the United States. We will then discuss several methods of waste water treatment such as: evaporation, chemical treatment, membrane separation, biological treatment, vapor compression distillation, and finally waste oil recovery.
