Water is the natural breeding ground for bacteria and our metalworking fluids are 95% water. Whatever claim manufacturers make, there is no formulation on this earth which can avoid bacteria formation.  There are many ways to control bacteria.  The most common method  used over the years is to add biocides. But this poses a seperate and certain health risk.  Through the same exposure mechanisms of inhalation and absorbtion by contact, employees are internally and externally exposed to the killing power of the biocides.

Wallenius Coolant System has been developed to continually monitor and reduce the amount of bacteria found in metalworking fluids without addition of extra biocides. The system is based on the Wallenius AOT technology, which imitates nature’s own way of breaking down microorganisms through a combination of active oxygen and UV disinfection. The bacteria reduction occurs in the coolant, which passes through the system without generating any harmful by-products.
