Making holes is a common job, but the challenge is how to produce them to high degrees of accuracy and surface finish. For many companies the answer is simple – HONING. The honing process is quite ancient in its origins.  Today, honing is a fast stock removal process comparatively.

One of the best things to happen in the Metalworking Fluid Community was when STLE took up the task of creating training programs for Metalworking Fluid Mangers and staff.  In my estimation, nothing did more to clean up the tens of thousands of sumps in America in the last 1/2 century than the introduction of the STLE courses on metalworking fluids.  Here is an opportunity to pick up additional training or to get the all i

Actually, it's more like a drug testing kit.  It’s not a secret that the success of a Metalworking Fluid is more about maintenance than formulation. A relatively simple formulation can provide solid performance if well maintained. This Coolant Test Kit from Tektrak provides a nice assembly of items useful to the metalworking fluid professional for day to day condition monitoring in a single carrying case.

Poor cutting tool life, poor surface finish, and swarf  flushing are common problems associated with metalworking fluids.  Often, these problems can be overcome with additional fluid pressure.  Modern machining requires continuous, uninterrupted operation.  As cutting cycles get more complicated, the high pressure coolant system needs to respond to automatically adjust the pressure delivered to the cutting interface.  LNS’s latest innovation combines the latest software technolog
